Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (8 ounces)
- 2 cups shredded American cheese (8 ounces
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 1 tea spoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Few drops bottled hot pepper sauce
- '/3 cup white wine
- French bread, cut into bite size pieces, each with 1 crust
How To
Have the cheeses at room temperature. In a mixing bowl combine cheeses
with cornstarch and drt mustard-- toss
to coat
Add Worcestershire
sauce and hot pepper sauce: mix well
In a saucepan heat
white wine just until warm. Gradually
add cheese mixture stirring constantly over medium‑to low heat till the cheese
is melted.
Quickly transfer
cheese mixture to a fondue pot, place over a fondue burner spear a bread cube
with a fondue fork, piercing the crust last, dip bread into cheese mix re
swirling to coat bread (The swirling is important ‑ to keep the mixture in
motion so it doesn't set up. ) If
mixture thickens while standing, stir in some additional warmed white
wine. Makes 4 to 6 serving
